  • Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (coordinator) (ISSP UL), is the best research institution in the field of material science in Latvia - according to the international assessment of Latvian research institutions (Latvia: Research Assessment Exercise): “This institution is one of the best - arguably the best institution evaluated by Panel M”. ISSP has 2nd best rating from international evaluation of all Latvian research institutes, with especially high grading on international potential. ISSP UL is distinguished by its interdisciplinary research in material science with emphasis on nanoscience and nanotechnologies of new advanced functional materials and processes and with a special focus on materials applicable for sustainable energetics, nanoelectronics and photonics.
  • KTH Royal Institute of Technology(KTH), is among the world top universities (overall rank 117) and recorded for Industry income — innovation score 100 out of 100. KTH is responsible for one third of Sweden’s capacity for technical research and is the country’s largest provider of technical/ engineering education at university level. KTH education and research covers a broad spectrum – from natural sciences to all branches of engineering plus architecture, industrial economics, urban planning and learning. The activities of KTH in Kista are organized within the school of Information and Communication Technology. The school spans the whole area of Information & Communication Technology ranging from physics and materials, to components, systems, services and user experience. The school has academic activities on all levels in the fields Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, as well as in Physics and Material Science.
  • Acreo Swedish ICT (Acreo), is a research institute offering innovation and value adding technology solutions for sustainable growth and competitiveness of industry and society. Acreo works within the areas of Sensors and Actuators, Power Electronics and Digital Communication turning R&D into innovation by customized prototyping, small scale production and spin-off companies. Acreo has strong competence in the work towards industry to promote technology transfer. Successful working methods are employed to analyse company needs and propose innovations; organize brokerage events and workshops in the national and international level aiming to increase the companies' network and their contact with technology developers. It is a Swedish node for the Enterprise Europe Network to provide support to European SMEs in their internationalization activities.
